GfK’s Connected Consumer Index provides a single measure covering how much, and on what devices, consumers digitally connect - both with each other, and with digital content.
This index is designed to help technology providers easily spot market development and potential across 84 countries and 8 regions. It enables a quick comparison of how ‘connected’ different regions and countries are, showing each country’s connectivity trend over the last 5 years, together with a forecast for the current year. Forecast data will be updated quarterly.
The index covers 11 device types (Smartphone, Tablet, Mobile PC, Desktop PC, Wearables, Smart TV, TV Set-Top Box, Videogame console, E-Reader, Connected Cars, Smart Home), with data weighted for usage.
The index base starts at 100 points (the global average from the year 2010). The global Connected Consumer Index forecast for 2016 currently stands at 313 points - up 14 percent compared to last year.
